Don’t accept apologies that aren’t meant for you. Don’t accept apologies that don’t actually apologize for the thing. Don’t accept “But I’m actually the victim here” framing. Don’t accept empty words just because you want to respect the speaker. It’s not worth putting the real victims in jeopardy.

The best thing about Hadestown is there’s always at least one person who Capital R Reacts when he turns around. Not best because “Geez dummy how did you not know that was coming?” but best because it’s great that people can get so caught up in the storytelling that it still catches them off guard 🌹
