The price point is batshit insane IMO. I'm arguably the target audience. Old enough to have nostalgia, tend to purchase on my PS5. But full new game price for half the product they sold me back when? Feels shitty.

I've repeatedly described it ad "least good" Souls game - because 1 and 3 tickle my brain better - but even the least good Souls game is pretty damn good IMO. I respect that it leaned into the most bristly aspects of DS1 and for better or worse is demonstrably unique compared to its peers.

Effectively abandoned on console; stopped active development on all versions but the console port did not get a lot of the patches and hotfixes that the PC version got. The PC version is excellent though. Great game, just wouldn't advise the port. Like at all. It's a buggy mess, never to improve.

Mindless, and then suddenly you have to be stealthy... while sailing a brig full of drunk singing lads who missed the memo. It was a weird one. They've never surpassed its naval combat for all their years of trying, having said all that.

They only know an almost ghoulish dedication to capital. And having lots of money (more than most of us will ever see) isn't enough. It has to be literally all the money. Modern gaming is not just pricing me out, it's morally driving me away. Voting with my wallet has never been easier.

I especially enjoyed the lessened emphasis on broad concepts like honor and shame in favor of a personal revenge story. I liked Jin Sakai, I loved Atsu.

I don't know you, but I know and love your work. This is awful, Morten, but you can and should definitely be proud of what you've accomplished. I'm sorry the industry is in such rotten shape that you can ship one of the best titles of the year and still not be immune to corporate shitheel-ery.

I just wish the Switch remaster had maintained the godawful English VO from the GameCube localization. I miss my Gogurt Tube commercial-sounding waifs.
