We need to ban foreign ownership of BC farmland immediately. The super-billionaire heir to the Walmart fortune, Stan Kroenke, now controls over 13% of BC’s farmland - this is a threat to BC’s sovereignty, food security and farmers. Read the Tyee’s in-depth coverage on this issue.

Billionaires believe they're entitled to our democracy. Tax the ultra-wealthy.
Maybe the right wing Wall Street Journal passed on the opportunity to smear a DSA leader quoting Marx, but I find it odd that none of them mention workers owning the means of production, and the farthest they go is to support taxing billionaires. That's not socialism. It's barely social democracy.
🚨 This is an illegal war of aggression started by Trump and Netanyahu. Unfortunately america has become a rogue state run by a war criminal. Iran has been very nice so far... US General’s DIRE WARNING About Iran’s True Power Can’t Be Ignored. @kylekulinskishow.bsky.social
I will say I at least genuinely appreciate the number of folks coming out and explicitly showing us what we knew they stood for all along: When it comes down to democracy vs billionaire interests, they're siding with the billionaires every time. Quisling weirdos, truly!
Rachel GilmoreGuys I need you to know that on Twitter they're characterizing Canadians upset that the Shopify CEO wants to strip pensioners and the poor of the right to vote as "tall poppy syndrome"
Mark Carney is quickly taking his place amongst the worst Prime Ministers in Canadian history. Thanks for putting a knife squarely in the back of my entire industry, @mark-carney.bsky.social. 90,000+ film and tv workers in BC will remember this next election. www.thewirereport.ca/2026/07/28/b...
Saying the quiet part out loud again. This is why cutting off US support is essential for the liberation of Palestinians.
Financial TimesThe US president’s remarks came on the eve of his first meeting in Washington with Benjamin Netanyahu since the two launched the war on Iran earlier this year. ft.trib.al/ltSkifh
Capitalism is built around theft, and it's what makes compound interest possible. It's also something that you can't escape when you have that much money, even if you tried. No matter where you keep it, a billion dollars will grow exponentially. That's why billionaires shouldn't exist.
Better Things Are PossibleOnce you have a lot of money it becomes easier to get more money by doing nothing, which disincentivizes work. This is why all our billionaires post insane bullshit all day. If they had to work they'd be too busy to act like this, doubly benefiting society
One of the biggest problems with an individualistic society is that there is no continuity of awareness among the population. Generations don't pass the lessons they've learned to their kids, so people keep making the same mistakes over and over again. We've reverted to the Gilded Age because of it.
Consider that people in the US are paying ridiculous prices to be fed poison, are fully aware of it, and their response is to shrug and say, "I guess I'll eat something other than fruits and vegetables." The level of societal pacification and learned helplessness under capitalism is off the charts.
Wanna bet that Harris supporters wouldn’t feel this way if Harris was president? 🤔
Prem Thakker ツNew poll: Americans believe the U.S. should arrest Benjamin Netanyahu by a +22 margin Total: 49-27 Black: 53-13 Hispanic: 52-15 Ages 18-29: 58-17 Harris voters: 74-10 Independents: 55-20 23% of Trump voters agree as well Economist/YouGov:
Oh is the Shopify CEO like.......STUPID stupid? The system he called "good" suggested we hand out votes based on income tax paid. Does THE HEAD OF AN E-COMMERCE GIANT think sales taxes are income taxes?? Someone take away this man's phone!!!
Rachel GilmoreThe multi-billionaire CEO of Shopify thinks a “good system” is one where the poor don’t get to vote in elections and the rich get to vote several times over. I wish I was kidding. Oh, and guess what? This guy and his pals are trying to influence our politics -- and they're arguably succeeding:
"Because Trump" or the more euphemistic "because the world has changed" is the favourite thought-terminating cliché of Carney supporters. Offer any evidence-based criticism of any Carney policy & you will hear that these unusually dangerous times require it. But he's making us *more* vulnerable. 🧵1/
Some men just want to watch the world burn. Apparently, Canadians elected one to the country's top job. Mark Carney's approach to the climate issue is apocalyptic. As climate impacts reach hardcore crisis levels, he's determined to make things even worse. 🧵1/ climatefactchecks.org/millions-aff...
To this PM, big oil matters, and your health very much does not. This colossal cut to health care will almost cover a new publicly funded pipeline & expanding fossil fuel infrastructure on a west coast port. Handouts to climate non-solution CCS will require further cuts. shrlnk.ca/s/7SgMK3Vs
