What a tragic waste of life. This should serve as a cautionary tale about what happens when a group of ignorant, reckless young people decide they want to play revolutionaries.

One reason I don't like the DSA is that I am not a socialist. I think that the core socialist ideas (abolition of private property, government ownership of the means of production) have not worked where they have been tried, are very unlikely to work in the U.S., and are a political dead end.

Some of this is just the way our individual psychologies work. People have different levels of optimism and pessimism bias. I have always had a pretty strong pessimism bias. It's not really effective for me to try to trick myself into being more optimistic. But I have learned to adjust.

This sounds like an inviting platform: "a repository of painful engagement bait being spewed out by an army of bots who seem at times to mainly be lobbing business platitudes at one another."
