How do you compare ALL CITY to the original idea of the Athletic? It seems like it's a tentpole version focused on the major sports cities first. Am I making that analogy up in my head or is it intentional?

I'm not sure I'm working from the same definitions but I see a lot more of this in niche hobby spaces like indieweb (and to some extent the Fediverse). I think the problem is that a lot of the people in those scenes are allergic to capital, which keeps those projects as niche interests.
