It’s an excellent film, it was a massive success domestically and it’s ridiculous that Tubi - of all places! - is the first and currently *only* place you can catch this in the UK…

The expensive fare that he picks up is to drive a foreigner from Seoul to Gwangju - but he doesn’t realise that city has been cut off from the rest of the country and the foreigner has a job to do there…

It definitely ain’t pretty but I’ve stayed at the LSE pretty cheaply over the summer (stayatlse.co.uk) a couple of times, prices can vary a lot though

It varies depending on which day but as a ballpark I usually allow ‘Travel + £200’ (Frightfest day ticket is £60-80, Accommodation depends on how close/fancy you want it to be etc but for somewhere to crash out £120 give or take)

I have! - it’s a favourite - I’ve rewatched the tv movies more often though… this time around I think I may have to dig the series out too

I can go back-and-forth on which is my favourite of these but… it doesn’t really matter. Each has a *very* slightly different tone - which is fitting given the different locations - but both give us sharp scripts, wonderful performances, an excellent soundtrack and all-round 1970s genre-bending fun

This is streaming on Arrow Player at the moment, however - frustratingly - one of the characters occasionally speaks Japanese and those lines aren’t subbed on their version…

Very silly stuff but works well - I guffawed several times. Its style of meta/broad comedy is very difficult to get right but deft direction, energetic performances and great comedy timing make it work here. It’s not a must-watch yet it’s highly likeable, I shall seek out the (standalone) sequel.

Maybe it’s an error and they meant on the set of of the REPOSSESSED (1990) remake?

I genuinely could not remember if I’d seen this before - despite the story being so familiar - probably due to the number of times it’s been reworked, referred it and spoofed (I feel it must’ve been spoofed, right?).

This is, of course, completely bonkers stuff and it’s all wound around the central performance from the Lorre who manages to deliver both a slight repulsiveness and a sense of vulnerability but then pushes it and pushes it until we’re left with a maniacal hysterical madman. It’s great fun.

A wonderfully unsettling Peter Lorre is the brilliant, but ever-so-creepy, surgeon Gogol who obsesses over actress Yvonne Orlac (a suitably creeped-out Frances Drakes) who enlists the doctor in an attempt to save her husbands musically gifted hands...
