It's beginning to look like Burnham might be the Keir Starmer Britain thought it had elected. More than just not-Tory.

At the moment, it seems my employer is rewarding the strongest GenAI advocates, rather than punishing opponents. But that's a paper-thin distinction.

Wouldn't work in AoNZ. People would be ashamed to say it. If they could remember. "It's that guy who looks like a roll-on deodorant... worked for Unilever... Lynx/Rexona... Lexona? Lunx?"
Miley Crisis. ✨Australia went through similar in the 2010s which lead to the ambulance services dropping "who's the current prime minister?" as a question for checking if a patient was conscious/mentally sound bc it was confusing for everyone
Terminator is great, but really underplays the vast numbers who would pick the side of the AI if their expenses were automated.
Alice Averlong 🏳️⚧️in the vein of "good scifi predicts not only the car but the parking lot and the traffic jam", I'm now a lot more impressed by scifi that predicted it'd be really bad when we got AI, even if it doesn't do a robot war against humanity.
Honestly thought JDivans was the only person who could fail a personality test.
Dreadnought HolidayJust been reminded that I once got sacked from a job for failing - FAILING - a Myers-Briggs test.
Magnificent. The One Good Cyberman*. *Not a Who dork, so this may not be the case, although obviously The Count is not fictional, so...

Oh this is an area where AoNZ is ahead of the field
mtswthe wealthy (who control the business press) want expansive, stimulative monetary policy when Republicans run government and restrictive, recessionary policy when Democrats run government. So you get articles like this saying inflation is fake when a Republican is in charge.
Excellent thread all round. I didn't agree with Hank on GenAI, but I disagree with lots of people on lots of things.
Jonathan JarryIf you’re a science communicator and you use AI, read this. This is about what’s happening to Hank Green.
There was a comment in @mollyjongfast.bsky.social Fast Politics interview with Eli Tan that just threw me: apnews.com/article/loui... I had missed this at the time, or at best forgotten. Surprised the AoNZ govt hasn't run with it.
Infantino is hung, drawn, and hydration broken.
John BullSo Concacaf sides with Uefa. FIFA's financial power grab is done. What's funny is Infantino would probably have just about got away with this if it wasn't for the Balogun thing. As i said at the time, that scared the absolute shit out of the European FAs. So they instantly closed ranks on this.
