Never bend the knee for bullies. All they do is ask for more and more and more. You show them weakness, you're just telling them their tactics WORK. It sucks, and I get that its HARD sometimes to stand up to them, but...even losing a fight to them actually does you better than bending over without.

I was initially hesitant to post about this, but... My son has never been a big reader. Which, librarian as a dad, heavy reader as a mom, go figure, but we didn't try to force it on him and create trauma. I just figured it was ADHD-related. A couple of weeks ago, the switch flipped.
