After joining forces w/ the local North American bushy-tailed tree-rats* and having all my allotment cherries away, the pesky Woodpigeons now have the nerve to nest in the tree, giving me the evil eye if I go near my compost corner. You win 2026. Roll on next year.. (*Grey Squirrels. Pesky ones.)

This made me smile today. Stumbled on last yr's 'Adventure Golf' from Rochester Cathedral. Right now it's a free indoor short course at www.stjohnschatham.co.uk. (Services Sunday, but open Mon- Sat next [last] week.) Crazy fun freebie in Chatham town centre. 😉👍

1st day out for a few days (chest hates heat/dust). To shops in Chatham, c/o train to Gillingham for a stroll over the Great Lines. Played a game of 'Skiddies- firestarter or firefighter?'. (Had to be latter, how very little burnt- good response lads.) Probably get to play another game again soon.

Aug 1st. Lughnasadh. The Gaelic festival marking the beginning of the harvest season. 2026, and the warrior God Lugh returns to find the mortals have started the harvest in without him. "No. Fekking up the earth like this, I'm off. No fekking festival for you lot." Mortals: "Ah g'wan.."
