I used Wikipedia last week to research the life of a poet; the citations included her NYT obit, which I then read. But Wikipedia and the NYT disagreed on one key fact, so I had to go to a primary source to double-check; Wikipedia -- relying on another source -- was right in this case.

As I settle in for today's revision session, I'm thinking about how a good literary-writer friend commented (approvingly) on my, well, sizable backlist and yet how hard it is for me not feel that the sheer scope of my output makes me a hack. Ah well, too late to turn back now.

Today's allotment of pages done; even with relatively small tweaks on this pass, I can't do much more than 50-ish pages a day. I still remain somewhat in awe that I get paid for this.

Good morning, Bluesky. I am aware that I have been logorrheic here even relative to my usual garrulity*, but the good news (truly) is that my book has returned to me for minor revisions and I get to go back to work for a week or so and I couldn’t be happier. tl;dr: I’m not a well person.
