7/ Exactly the qualities the people going after him are trying to strip out of our society. I stand with Dr. Fauci. He is a hero. Sad times in America continue. I sure hope they end soon.

4/ So today I sent a note of thanks, and shared our latest work on the Tijuana River air and water quality crisis at the US-Mexico border. I almost didn’t send it. He is flooded right now, and I figured it might never reach him.

3/ He graciously heard me out in a Zoom meeting. He changed what he said. That is not a small thing in a man with that much on his shoulders who is juggling so much.

2/ I reminded him who I was: the “aerosol activist.” During COVID I pushed him — and pushed him - until he said out loud that the SARS-2 virus travels through the air.

Seriously…it’s like saying we filtered pathogens out of water before people drank it but saw no effect so filtering pathogens doesn’t help…make it make sense.

So the null is uninterpretable as a test of clean air: it cannot distinguish "clean air delivery doesn't reduce transmission" from "no meaningful clean air was delivered." With a CI of 0.64–1.33, the effect a 1-eACH increment could plausibly produce was never resolvable in the first place. 2/

Not sure how you’re seeing that in the figure? It shows the total H2S in the air (running 1 year avg) and the impact of wastewater diversion and rainwater dilution. Worst case is when the river is 100% wastewater at higher flow (dry season relative scale). It all is coming from the polluted river.

San Diego County and the City of San Diego have both declared multiple state of emergencies...CA Governor has refused repeatedly. Imperial Beach and Coronado have too. It's heartbreaking to watch these communities continue to suffer.

To be clear, both deserve state of emergency declarations by our Governor. If you lived in South Bay (or interacted with those who are suffering regularly), you'd likely be asking why not South Bay, too....no, not in place of...in addition to....

At this point, the County needs help from the State...at least declare state of emergency...then hope the federal government acts quickly. It hasn't happened and people are really really sick as they are breathing hazardous air every day and night...it's an incredibly sad situation....

They see fast action helps...just not for them. They feel they don't count for some reason. Not sure what it will take to stop millions of gallons of raw wastewater from flowing thru their communities for years and dumping into the Pacific Ocean...beach closures for years. Unbelievably sad.

Relieved to see Garden Grove is safe today and fast action protected people. This shouldn't be either/or. ALL residents of California deserve to be protected from unhealthy air and water. It makes me extremely sad to watch South Bay San Diego knowingly exposed to harmful air day after day.
