1/ I emailed Dr. Tony Fauci today to tell him how disgusted and sad I was with the way he’s been treated. I told him he is a hero and has my support and my admiration.

They never measured the air. The filters were run at settings chosen for noise and comfort in communal rooms (low flow). They didn't even calculate room volumes — and no tracer, particle, or bioaerosol data confirms the intervention lowered airborne pathogen concentrations anywhere. 1/

It would be great if San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria did this. We stand ready to help implement a plan for clean indoor air starting with South Bay schools where kids are being exposed to a toxic nerve gas, hydrogen sulfide, every day. The air can be so bad, the kids are not allowed to go out and play.

South Bay San Diego air is not getting cleaner....the figure below shows the annual average of H2S levels that have never fallen below the US EPA or OEHHA chronic standards. This is not OK....

Orange County got a state of emergency this week over a chemical that *might* leak. But San Diego’s South Bay has breathed measured toxic gases beyond chronic air standards for YEARS, with no such response. Same law, stronger evidence — the same standard should apply here. #TijuanaRiver #SouthBay

Maybe these orgs should care as much about those in South Bay San Diego. Great to see the support for Garden Grove, CA--but it begs the question--why are the people in San Diego continuing to be ignored while being exposed to thousands of gases & airborne pathogens from wastewater every day?? Excited to be in Stockholm honoring my longtime friend and colleague Ram Ramanathan who received the Crafoord Prize. So nice to see so many familiar happy faces and have a happy celebration while hearing about the latest climate research and major challenges.

The best science happens when fields collide. Insiders all search under the same lamp post. Outsiders shine a light somewhere new-and find the keys nobody was looking for. Younger scientists: major pushback isn't a stop sign. It's often the signal you're onto a paradigm shift. Keep pushing hard!!
