This is common sense and the truth.

At the start of the Civil War, there were 4 million people who were enslaved in the US. Families were separated so some members could be sold to plantations in other parts of the country, including children.

Can someone explain how Axios could publish this and not note that DOJ has lost 18 of these cases and not won a single one? 0-18 is smart brevity.
