She always does this, and I always thought she considered it immodest to give these details, but I think you're right. It empowers the reader. The Big Scene in Emma is so vague every adaptation does it differently (the version with J. Flynn and A. T-Joy is remarkably creative imo)

I think we enjoyed this at the time more than we ever can now. It felt fresh then. It’s overused now and also, Scorsese didn’t pick music ironically, to contrast with the action. I often engage in wishful thinking in order to cope with the current unpleasantness, but I sincerely think it's very possible that Elon will face consequences big enough that he flees the country. And if SpaceX is the new NASA, then the government might just decide to take it.
