The issue is that people want to see a fighter, not a tactician. That’s the mood of the electorate. They want him to put more pressure on. They want him to demand answers. Issuing lukewarm statements like “gee I dunno what’s going on” is weakness, even if it’s tactically smart.

He may well be dead. That’s the issue - nobody knows.

Not only that, cutting the liner with a razor would do absolutely nothing to it. Go cut any painted/lined surface with a razor - does that make it peel off? No, it does not. The media needs to repeat this fact over and over.

When American football started, there were no helmets, and players regularly died from head injuries. It was a huge deal most people have forgotten about. Helmets have surely helped reduce this. The problem is more fundamental though, there isn’t any truly safe way to play the game.

This should all be part of this “trial”. If this guy wants to prove his innocence, he needs experts to testify, the company who installed the liner to testify, witnesses who were there at various times to testify as to what was happening, put together a timeline, etc… all this costs money. Cont.

Trump will keep appealing regardless. If that gets truly exhausted, he will sue. When those get thrown out, he will keep doing it. There are no consequences for him doing this. That is the problem.

Seriously… who has the authority to appoint a new senator? If it’s the governor, he should appoint a democrat. It’s what Mitch would do if roles were reversed.

I would argue that the only sustainable democracy is a social democracy. Otherwise, the balance of power gradually moves away from people and toward money, where those with the most money have the most influence on the direction of the society. That is exactly what is plaguing the US right now.
