I'd never seen it before (well, I still haven't seen it, really) but I was struck by how shamelessly it seemed to be ripping off I'm All Right Jack. Love Stanley Baker. Much of Accident stands up really well.

Superb cast. But Spike forgot to write any jokes this time.

The cruise scenes in Middle England are loosely based on it, but I don't think I used the Elvis reference.

Fascinating. I saw 1941 on release, in Canada - the only time I ever went to a drive-in cinema. It was awful.

Agreed (though I haven't watched nearly as many as you!).

It was such a fascinating show. A couple of weeks ago they showed S1E7, 'Annabel', which is an adaptation of Patricia Highsmith's 'This Sweet Sickness' with a great performance by Dean Stockwell. And S217, an adaptation of Ray Bradbury's 'The Jar' is remarkable. (With a Bernard Herrmann score!)

The only time I met him (apart from sitting next to him at a Gary Burton concert when I was 22) was at a charity thing at the Palace of Westminster. He didn't want to reminisce about the Goodies until I asked him about the music and working with Mike Gibbs and then his eyes lit up and he was off.

It has major flaws and is - ahem - 'very much of its time' but the Bernard Herrmann score elevates it to a different level altogether.

I love Green for Danger, which I must have seen at least ten times - I can never remember who the murderer is. Endless Night has an (uncredited) cast member in common with it.
