Last two nights' double bills: Accident (Joseph Losey, 1967) Carry On At Your Convenience (Gerald Thomas, 1971) Sexy Beast (Jonathan Glazer, 2000) The Bed Sitting Room (Richard Lester, 1969) Didn't make it through the whole of the second film on either occasion.

Still going through old photos and paperwork, and have now been reminded of one of the oddest events I ever did: the time I was the warm-up act for an Elvis tribute show on a Saga cruise.

This is good. An illustrated catalogue of 2,000+ feature films on YouTube, covering 1930-1970. You can search by country and decade. In Spanish but easy to navigate, and you get the fun bonus of learning the Spanish titles of the films ...

A tangential thought. So many British comedy TV shows were turned into films in the 70s, despite being totally unsuited to the big screen. The Goodies, chock-full of brilliant visual humour, never did. Why no movie?

I went to the same school as Bill Oddie (KES in Birmingham) and there were legends that he'd once arrived at school on horseback and also had put up diversion signs which meant all the traffic along the main Bristol Road had to pass through the school grounds but I don't know if either is true.

So I think I've finally discovered the worst film ever made. It began yesterday at the bfi, listening to the excellent discussion between Sophie Hannah and Kazuo Ishiguro before a screening of Sidney Lumet's Murder on the Orient Express. They discussed the history of Agatha Christie adaptations.

I saw The Odyssey and thought it was OK. More hot film takes as they come in …
