Bit late to this - added it to my reading list and promptly went festivaling - but this is very good and shows why the politics of land needs to return and be at the heart of 'Manchesterism'. Without it we can't really achieve a lot of Burnham's aims; the politics of the physical needs to return.

Which is particularly concerning because, in this case, it looks like the reservoir *does actually have a genuine safety risk* due to blue-green algae (hence the misleadingly attractive colour). Not sure this is going to play out the way they're hoping.

An odd story in which a landowner from Birmingham has purchased a defunct Welsh reservoir (now an influencer beauty spot) and started charging £2 entry in order to "deter public visitation to the site". They seem to think this has removed their liability. In fact, it significantly increases it.
