Unfortunately many people still want to write "welcome to our website" even today. They think it's being nice, but users are there by and large because they're looking for something, goal-oriented. That being said, it's interesting seeing how grey the sites are and early attempts at e-commerce.

I don't use YouTube for news, but just once I thought I'd do a search for news of the disturbances in Glasgow today and see what the algorithm gave me just by searching for "Glasgow". Most of the videos I saw were from accounts calling themselves "Patriots" or known far right accounts.
