Her brother and father were held in different detention centers in Texas before they were sent to Chiapas, where they knew nobody. She and her mother are obviously struggling mentally, emotionally, and physically.

A young woman is now testifying behind the black curtain about racial profiling. Her father was picked up by ICE. She only found out when he didn't show up for work. When she found his vehicle (abandoned), ICE officers then snatched her brother. “My whole world was gone in a matter of hours.”

Jose is now speaking. He was working for a fast food company as a truck driver, but recently lost his Commercial Driver's License. He risked his life in 2020 driving throughout COVID. He has a child with special needs. Thousands of other Texans have lost their CDL's.

The next panel features Oscar Silva, born in Mexico, but living in the US since he was a child. The end of the Texas Dream Act (which provided in-state tuition for undocumented immigrants), jeopardized his master's degree. He doesn't want special treatment, just the opportunity to work for a future.

Now hearing about impacts on construction, where foreign-born workers comprise 40 percent of the workforce. The raids on construction sites have accelerated throughout Texas. And this has impacts on everyone. It's why a single-family home now takes ten to twelve months to build.

Texas currently has over 80,000 DACA recipients. Losing these folks would cost the state of Texas over $8.2 billion. But, current DACA recipients are at risk of deportation. Part of this stems from renewals slowing down extremely. Wait times for renewals are now going over six months.

At the time of her arrest, she was also still breastfeeding. Since being detained she has had only two visits with her daughter. But the last visit was so traumatizing, she begged Jason not to bring their daughter back to Bluebonnet.

We are hearing from "Jason," a US citizen and father. His wife, who has MS and has been taking care of his elderly father, was taken In February after an ICE check-in. She is now over three hours away at Bluebonnet Detention Center where she has not received adequate care for her condition.

The second panel is underway and it’s about being arrested for following the rules. All the witnesses have been impacted by ICE arrests and they are testifying behind a curtain to protect identities.

Now hearing from a rep. from Vecinos Unidos DFW who is talking about a case at immigration court. "Alex" was a newlywed from Venezuela with a work permit, who received another court date but as he left the court he was tackled by five ICE officers. He was dragged out, screaming with his shoes off.

Woodward is now elaborating on this pipeline: through both ICE warrants and 287g agreements. Texas has required counties to adopt 287g agreements, which he notes has essentially turned local law enforcement into ICE agents.

Danny Woodward from @txcivilrights.bsky.social is now speaking about how Texas is the epicenter of immigration reform. A quarter of immigration arrests are happening in Texas, and it's intentionally quiet because ICE has "conscripted local law enforcement to do their dirty work."

As planes fly overhead, Folkerth notes that ICE has been using Love Field airport to transport detainees. Urges people to imagine every plane you hear is housing a separated parent or child.

Faith leaders from DFW are now standing together. The pastor from Kessler Park UMC Eric Folkerth is describing being in immigration hearings and seeing families ripped apart right after.

We are now hearing from @anamariafortexas.com who is standing with one of the 145,000 children who have been separated from their families because of ICE.

Garza is now talking about small business owners who have been taken and beaten by ICE even though they were citizens. She notes the right to protest is even under attack. “What we’re seeing now is about instilling fear.”

We are now hearing from @txcivilrights.bsky.social president Rochelle Garza. She’s also the Chair of the Commission on Civil Rights. She says the testimony that’s been heard so far in cities like St. Paul have been so powerful to document the experiences of those impacted by ICE enforcement.
