There's something I find pleasant about the sound of skating, whether it's on boards, roller skates, or ice. The tools of motion clacking and cutting the surface on which they play. I don't skate anymore in any style, but I'm enjoying listening to the X Games in New Orleans on TV.

I worked at Disney a while ago. Do you know why theme parks are so safe? Because OOSHA reps can walk the track on any ride at any time and any safety violation they see is a $10,000 fine. Each. Theme parks are not safe because the company cares. They're safe because it's cheaper to comply.
Jon of The NorthTurns out that food companies were only checking their food because the government told them to, which is exactly why we need government regulations.

Hello everyone! Many of you likely saw this image recently with the Apple TV+ 'Neuromancer' promotion. Some know, others don't, but this artwork is mine, created alongside actor & post-production artist Milton Menezes, as a personal project and a homage to the original Neuromancer romance

When Rowling calls for eradication of trans ppl and finances the silencing of human rights defenders, Sulzberger’s nyt cheers her on. When Mamdani criticizes Netanyahu’s genocidal attacks on Palestinians, the nyt attacks Mamdani. These are the nyt “values”
Billie Jean SweeneyIt’s using the same tactics against Mamdani and Muslims as it used against trans ppl. Dishonest framing, the use of disreputable sources, a relentless stream of attack pieces.

I went to the Museum of Chinese in America town hall mentioned in the Hyperallergic article below and boycotted by protestors from Youth Against Displacement. Saw a tremendous amount of pain and distress from community members on both sides of this conflict. A thread of photos.
HyperallergicNew York Chinatown residents and activists protested outside a town hall event at the Museum of Chinese in America, condemning the leadership's acceptance of a $35 million grant from the city that they believe is tied to the construction of a borough jail.
