I would LOVE it if the regulations I manage could just say "don't be an idiot" and "please be nice" but there are reasons we can't and a lot of it has to do with the fact that an inspector found patients in an elder care home in bunk beds.

As someone who works on regs, every reg has a story. Long term care facility rules state how much toilet paper a resident gets. The director of the lab testing for mold in marijuana must have a science degree. The sperm bank has to keep records. The child care must sanitize surfaces.

Because my husband is a big dam nerd (spelled correctly), we visit dams while camping. Paonia in CO--earthen dam constructed in 1962. Workers had to rapel down the cliffs on the left to blast out rubble which was used to build the dam. (Pre-OSHA, so THAT'S fun.)
