Yeah, it's crazy when 1% of results are in and these reporters start extrapolating.

Yeah, I just think polls have been getting progressively worse in some of these races so while directionally AES is still the favorite I never bought that he'd win by 10+. I grew up in MI and it has always been a bit idiosyncratic.

Yeah, I don't have a dog in this fight and Stevens said she'd back AES if he won but talk of this being a blowout feels like another example of how online discourse doesn't usually match reality.

I can only assume that these same X tweeters will be pushing for RFK Jr to be trotted out in a couple of years to answer for various health crises under his watch.

I was in law school in the mid 2000s and it was absolutely the accepted belief that the 2000 election was handled properly and that questioning the jurisprudence of SCOTUS was for people who didn't understand how law worked. It was insufferable.

The part where he basically blamed the publisher for not catching the fabricated quotes displays a level of hubris and lack of shame that needs to be studied.

We're looking for a used EV and I see a TON of 4-5 year old Teslas available with seemingly no interest as prices well below comparable vehicles. It does feel like the empire he built was on way more sand than originally believed.

Multiple times during the clip people grow and then lose little facial bumps and, in one spot, Odysseus has golden flecks on the back of his neck that are clearly just artifacts of the armor he wore a scene before. Again, this guy wants you to believe he can make autonomous robots and go to Mars.

I think it's a real problem how common and ubiquitous gambling has become so I'm not doubting the thrust of the piece but I do think using loaded words like "habit" can make the pointer murkier for some groups.

Clicking thru it's a Morning Consult poll with 622 respondents, and while I didn't see the exact question asked I think it includes daily fantasy sports and similar services. I suspect with a sufficiently broad definition you get close to 28% but it's a single online poll with an okay sample size.

I heard Andy Fang speak years ago about DoorDash from a technology standpoint and let's just say that the fact he'd rather have robots talk to other robots and remove any human involvement totally tracks. The fact it'll hilariously fail multiple times doesn't remotely matter to him.

We truly do need to study the types of people who bet money on what Donald Trump will say and honestly believe that transaction is not rigged.

Oster expanding her craft from dubious "data driven" analysis around pregnancy and child rearing to food-borne illnesses and government management is not totally unsurprising. Yes, this isn't the plague but this outbreak is a massive public health failure because the dumbest people are in charge.

The fact both of the Loveline guys turned out to be massive POSes probably shouldn't be a surprise.

Even for just small businesses, $24M isn't going to really do anything for shipbuilding.

The wildest part to me is that FanDuel didn't even contact him "officially" but via Cameo, the same app used by the likes of Floyd Mayweather Jr. to help cover tax evasion penalties.

You either maintain loyalty with some people you shouldn't for too long or you are Trump, who'll stab basically anyone in the back if he needs to unless you are a pedophile. Mamdani will have to figure out how to cull his pack but he's earned some time to figure it out.

Also, all the messaging seems to be "we didn't agree with him on much but he was in a lot of meetings so we talked and he wasn't awful". There isn't effusive praise coming out.

Nobody is saying we need a day of mourning or anything, but it's easier to be snarky and score internet points for someone you've never met and never will versus someone you knew for years.

Also, he was in the Senate for 23 years and House 8 years before that. He's undoubtedly just made friends over that time because they're work colleagues. All the Dem responses I've seen are "we didn't agree on a lot but we were friendly", which seems like a human response.
