Since when are landlords expected to renovate their properties without jacking up the rent? It’s just “business 101” when the tenants are families in homes but not when the tenant is a billionaire sports owner? 🤔

If we want to increase biking in Portland, we need a bike plan that prioritizes families tootling around their neighborhoods, not just for fit people who traverse the city as a lifestyle choice. I’m just a middle aged mom who wants to get to my local taqueria, ya know?
Brent ToderianRiding bikes is 10X more important than electric cars for reaching net-zero cities. And that’s just the climate emissions. Doesn’t include the massive public & personal cost difference, the air & noise pollution difference, the massive space difference, etc, etc…Via @theconversation.bsky.social
I love Portland and have spent almost a decade accomplishing some really hard things to help build belonging for all Portlanders. Learn more about who I am, what I’ve done, and my vision for this amazing city at evenstarforportland.com
Strong take. It’s lazy governing. They’d rather get sound bites then do anything that rocks the boat. Portland can do hard things but it takes courage to make it happen. I think some councilors forget who they actually work for. Let’s help them remember in November.
pnwpolicyangel aka Angelita 👼The conservative bloc would rather call on him to break ties than do the hard work of governing as the legislative body. They want him to do the Moda deal, they want him to tie break all the time, they don’t want to do oversight, at this point I think they want to be board members, not councilors
That’s exactly what’s happening
ambit's like they're trying to demoralize us www.kgw.com/article/spor...
He’s definitely playing daddy for some councilors but by charter he has no authority over council. The fact that the moderates want him to come rescue them when they can’t collaborate effectively should give us all the ick.
Willamette WeekMayor Keith Wilson for the first time broke a tie on the council, earning him the derisive title “daddy of the city” from one councilor.
However you feel about the opportunity we have to get community benefits (I agree!), this clearly shows that it was never intended to be a negotiation on behalf of the public’s best interest from the start. The council must demand accountability from the mayor. These are not his decisions to make.
Rip City Not Rip Off1/ OK! We analyzed all ~5,300 pages of public records on the Moda Center deal — every email, text, contract, and invoice produced so far. Before Portland commits ~$850M+ ($1.12B after interest), here’s what every Portlander should know. It’s not the story you’ve been told. 🧵
We are so close! Be a founding donor and help us get over the finish line this week! secure.actblue.com/donate/jamey...
Hey this means a lot. We are almost there! Only need 39 more donations to qualify. If you haven’t already, please pitch in to break the deadlock! 🙏
mitch (he/him)i should be trying to juice my own donations (i’m pretty close to T2), but i’d really like to see @jameyevenstar.bsky.social and @mullen4pdx.com hit the first tier of SDE matching funds in July to get a real shot at winning a seat. pitch in $10 and give each a donation matched 10:1
Really great description of what’s going down. We all want the Blazers to stay but an elected’s job is to make fully informed decisions that are in the best interest of the people they serve. Calling them chickenshit for slowing down a farcical timeline so they can do their job well is wild work.
Alex ZielinskiPortland city councilors say they lack information on the Blazers' proposed renovations to the Moda Center. The Blazers say they've shared plenty. Mayor Wilson is caught in the middle. A peek at the political dynamics at play as negotiations heat up in public and behind closed doors.
It’s the skipping a public work session for me. As Teacher Tiffany often reminds us, the people are their bosses. www.portlandmercury.com/news/two-cit...
This is what we’ve been talking about! Finally folks are waking up to the reasonable, smart, and fiscally responsible positions of the progressives. Take note of who on council is on the wrong side of history on this and make them feel it in November! #evenstarforportland
Rip City Not Rip OffToday the Oregonian editorial board said the city should charge market rent, take naming rights, and that Dundon is bringing nothing. A former Blazers executive agrees. This was never the fringe position. It was always the reasonable one. They just caught up. www.oregonlive.com/opinion/2026...
I'm turning 50 in July and this is all I want for my birthday! Come celebrate with us. Birthday/Launch party, July 16th, 6-8pm at Cafe UNITED (118 NW Couch St). RSVP here: forms.gle/WtUAnJFvD732... 💚 Chip in $5 secure.actblue.com/donate/jamey... Let’s gooooo!
Is it just me or does Dundon seem to have near disdain for this city? He acts like keeping the Blazers here is a sacrifice. Like Portland isn’t called Sportland for a reason. This is a mind game. He wants us to grovel. #ripcitynotripoff www.wweek.com/news/city/20...
It’s time for Portland to break the block and vote in more progressive candidates who will help council move the city forward. That’s why @mullen4pdx.com is running in District 3 and I am running in District 4. But we need your help today! (Cont) secure.actblue.com/donate/break...
