i have seen a lot of "I am buying Wolverine, but on DISC to show Sony what's important to me!!!!" and i am having a hard time convincing myself people REALLY BELIEVE they are doing something there

also hey maybe aiming to force a company to continue to produce a product you like (in perpetuity??) is not really political action

the fundamental flaws here are: 1. there are no real tangible demands. 2. only "boycotting" for a week just shows how little actual leverage you are willing to deploy. 3. I don't even believe people are gonna hold to that week. 4. the supposed goals are aimed in the wrong direction

the funniest (but probably also most telling) response to this post are the people being like, "well have you considered videogame journalists don't KNOW about the BDS boycott?" Like, dog, they know when WumboJigglypuff67 posts a Nintendo Direct rumor. I think maybe they have heard!

The material effectiveness of the BDS Xbox boycott shouldn't be a condition to be met to warrant reporting from outlets. We build trends from singular petulant reddit posts and report "insider" rumours without shame, the least anyone could do is *mention* an ongoing genocide.

Really nice exploration of the two halves of Splatoon Raiders' fun. Definitely prefer the propulsive and chaotic co-op, but the single-player experience rules in its own way for a lot of the reasons laid out here.

i think a fair and reasonable social expectation is that if you don't like me you can just kinda unfollow/mute me. I am not really trying to talk to people that are rolling their eyes whenever they see me coming and, honestly, i don't want my posts to negatively impact your day like that.
