the funniest (but probably also most telling) response to this post are the people being like, "well have you considered videogame journalists don't KNOW about the BDS boycott?" Like, dog, they know when WumboJigglypuff67 posts a Nintendo Direct rumor. I think maybe they have heard!

Interesting that almost all analysis of Xbox in freefall completely ignores an organized boycott intended to harm the company financially. Meanwhile, multiple news stories on the home page all month about PlayStation boycotts that haven't even happened yet.

Nah they know, you can't tell me a entire profession happened to just "not know". It's reeks of trying to prevent proper coverage on the higher up & corprate end of things.

Outlets would rather milk the topic of PS boycott reguardless of how legit they are, but meanwhile a major orgaization calls for a boycott against a company who is guilty of genocide all a sudden they have cold feet for some reason.

I have defended creators I've liked in the past with this excuse and, yeah, it's a bad excuse. It sucks cause you want to believe they're better than that and believe in the cause. Not sure what risk they think they'd be taking by talking about it or why that risk wouldn't be worth it.
