Now having seen the trifecta of "directors from Youtube" films, I can say Obsession is easily better than Backrooms in a character/investment/writing perspective. Backrooms has great sense of ambience/immersion, but lacks character depth. Iron Lung just doesn't compare to the two, sadly.

The more I think about it the better my opinion I think.

I will say also on the note of historical accuracy that I am a BIG proponent of historical accuracy on screen. That said, I’m not convinced at all that getting the exact type of armor, architecture, etc would have improved this movie, as its more about the statements. It’s gripping *fantasy.*

I think a lot of the reticence (and I was certainly reticent before) was about expectation and bemoaning (rightfully) stuff that Hollywood tends to do (think remake fatigue), but the movie isn’t the caricature it’s preconceived to be.
