I feel like this article understates the situation. I would rather see *all* of Congress replaced. Every single one, regardless of party. Throw the whole thing out and start over with new people who are willing to, like... do stuff their constituents are actually asking for.

CNN Poll: Voters favor Democrats by an 8-point margin heading into the midterms | CNN PoliticsLess than 100 days before the midterms, voters are agitating for wholesale change in Congress and looking to the Democratic Party in hopes of making that happen.www.cnn.com

Now that said, also do vote strategically. If you're in an area and the Dem nominee is genuinely still supporting our rights, even if they had a DSA challenger that didn't make it, go ahead and vote for them to keep a Repub out. Understand the base position and goal based on your specific district.

If someone is actually, in good faith, “just asking questions,” they stop asking once those questions have been answered. Every question about trans women in sports, trans kids, etc., is extremely answered. Anyone still “asking” in 2026 just doesn’t like the answers and wants you to ignore them.

Rodger Sherman

i don't believe anyone has "good-faith" concerns about trans women in sports in 2026. there's been too much time to hear the actual evidence, the actual people affected, and the role the debate plays in attempts to purge trans people from American life. anybody picking that side has made a choice

DSA all the way. The old Democratic party has proven feckless and rotted and needs to be taken over. Regardless how the nomination shakes out, support the DSA progressive candidate because it clearly no longer matters if it's a Repub or old-style Dem, because either will be bad for all of us.

We have held our noses and voted so many times. We have stumped for Democrats who were so-so because we knew the alternatives were worse. We have tried to keep supporting them. And they have simply decided to betray us by allowing Republican anti-LGBT talking points to squeeze into the Dem party.

Amy Acton is bigot trash who shouldn't be the Dem nominee for any position. Dems shouldn't have started letting candidates slide right. You will never get Republican/"Center" voters who've been told for thirty years now that you're the devil incarnate. But you will lose a lot of previous Dem voters.

Erin Reed

1. In the aftermath of forcing the Ohio Progressive Caucus to delete criticism of Amy Acton for calling trans girls "boys," progressives were promised a meeting with Acton. Now, we have learned she didn't show up, and kicked trans people out of the meeting. Subscribe to support our journalism.

"Vote Blue No Matter Who!™" We did, several times, and now we're finally getting a coalition of winning Blue candidates to actually DO SOMETHING about the cyberpunk dystopia Republicans and corporations keep building. So vote Blue! "Yeah. Er, we meant ... Vote The Blue Our PAC Masters Approve Of."

Adam H Johnson

Centrists in Congress (anonymously) threatening to leave this Democratic Party. James Carville calling for a schism. Top Dems refusing to endorse Dem primary winners. Pouty (also anonymous) pro-Israel donors in MI calling for a donor strike—I wrote about the emerging centrist Uncommitted Movement.

It's not enough to be against AI, you need to be pro art. You need to be a champion of the art you love, you need to share that passion and joy, and do what you can to support the artists who make it, because it's not enough to hate AI, to hate what it's doing to art and media; you gotta love.

Bipartisanship is absolute BS in a system where one party's (Republican) stated goals are to subjugate, torture, and/or evict 80% of the country that they deem "undesirables" and create a corporate white ethnostate. Cooperating with people like that isn't enlightened, it's just gullibly stupid.

It's one of the reasons that Private Equity became such a nightmare. In the absence of regulations that used to protect the real economy, some finance bros learned they could make short money through bizarre business loophole math by just acquiring actual businesses and destroying them with debt.

Yeah, the number of times I've seen marketing or investor speak be like, "Just imagine if you could [convoluted way of describing very standard task/activity that people have already been doing for decades or even centuries easily]." is astounding and a bit disturbing.

The investor class decided it would be "the big thing" without asking if anyone actually wanted it, so then to justify their huge investments, it had to be forced on people. It's all utterly backwards from how even the most basic economics is supposed to work.

He's a white supremacist whose family made their early fortune in South African apartheid through exploitation of that corrupt, evil system. That seed money allowed him to constantly buy other people's decent ideas and screw them up. His destruction of programs was straight up racist revenge.

I grew up poor--dead poor--and was able to eat because of free lunch programs. Meanwhile, one of my school friends, Angel, grew up very well-to-do. Rich parents, nice house. Mother who thought fatness was a crime and all carbs made you fat.

Erica C. Barnett

The Seattle City Council just voted 6-3 to approve Joy Hollingsworth's amendment to delay universal school lunches for kids, replacing them with vouchers for qualifying low-income parents to buy groceries over school breaks and weekends. Eddie Lin, Alexis Mercedes Rinck, and Rob Saka voted no.
