Currently lying to myself and saying that my body is more efficient than the other people who don't look like they are dying of heat and sweating like mad. So so hot

In our hotel room, huzzah. Now we are going off in search of happy hour treats and some of the best people watching in the world

Made it to West Haven in about 2.5 hours. Now waiting to take the train to Grand Central to start our adventure.

Just had a teen come up to me and ask about the budget process and whether teens could go to town meeting and speak out in favor of funding things like the library and domestic violence training for the police and it was just very wholesome and nice.

Neighbors cutting down a tree this morning found a cute way to not have to haul (pay to haul) the trunks away! Just throw them down the hill...towards my car and garage (which was hit by one). Plus maybe some tiles? I hate these people.

We watched Old Yeller as a grade and no one really warned us lol Bridge to Terabithia and Where the Red Fern grows were also hits. We made an "on the scene" report for a project where someone only had one arm and there was a chain saw or axe nearby. High culture.

Passing Strange At Present

Well when WE were children we read IMPROVING books like The Red Pony and Old Yeller and Animal Farm and Lord of the Flies and WE grew up traumatized and where's my medication

Dearest GLAMS, Does anyone know if you need to show your student ID after buying the online ticket at the Met? My online school doesn't send us IDs. 📜

I once told my dad that I wanted to hug the wild bunnies outside and he said, no, I would get bunny fever. It is often difficult to tell when my dad is being serious so I assumed he had made it up. He is very like Calvin's dad when asked a question. Turns out, no, he was right (like almost always).

3 people have been confirmed positive for tularemia, or rabbit fever, a rare tick-borne illness with symptoms worse than Lyme disease. This comes after the Trump administration made significant funding cuts to the Centers for Disease Control.

Looks like Foxboro was smart to demand funding up front. I wonder if this mythical money will go to them or to Boston (eventually).

The US host cities for the 2026 men's World Cup claim that they were *verbally* promised $1 million each by Gianni Infantino and that FIFA hasn't paid up. Truly incredible stuff. www.nytimes.com/athletic/749...

Just scared at least six raccoons in the backyard. I think an adult was attacking the group of younger ones? They were all cuddled together

These last two months have been very productive, reading wise, but I'm still running behind to reach my year end goal. Should be able to fix that at the end of the month at a house without TV. Best books were Slayers of Old, Ms Mebel, &Harvest Season. Everyone is Lying to you wasn't bad either

I worked with the public in Boston's tourism industry for 16 years in multiple different neighborhoods. Two things always came up when speaking with them. 1. We were a lot nicer than they thought we would be, even to tourists. 2. The city was so damn clean, how do you do that?

Trump: "Look at the blue cities. What do they have in common? They're all dirty. They're filthy dirty. Their streets are dirty. Their streets smell. Their storefronts are broken. Their trees are all gross. Everything about the place is dirty. It's really all of them."

Trying to find Benjamin Whitten/Whitton's (1841 Maine-?) death date for a patron and having the hardest time. He was part of the 1877 Boston & Maine RR strike and I know he was alive until the end of that year but by 1880 his wife is listed as a widow. Would she have just said that out of shame?

Anyone have a favorite place for happy hours around Midtown NYC? We are staying near the Empire State Building and don't have happy hour here so I would like to go to one that has something other than just margaritas.

So happy to not have to deal with these mouth breathers anymore.

Some anti-abortion frother men who don't think the "pro-life movement" is extreme enough were at Faneuil Hall today trying to take their battle against "child sacrifice" to us heathens. They marched and screeched, um, preached, and will be back downtown tomorrow. www.reddit.com/r/boston/com...

The cutest thing at the parade today was hearing everyone say, oh they are our sister city! And then people saying Konnichiwa with such enthusiasm to the students from the sister city from Japan.

They didn't sink!

Maybe on World Ranger Day, all of you could stop following ALT NPS as they are not made up of former or current Ranger staff. We are a small group of people when it comes down to it and no one I know knows anyone associated with that account.
