It's probably some 1980s-era Soviet military parachute, or a 2000s 'lowest bidder' Russian-quality parachute. Shame we cannot really see too much of it since it failed to deploy :) Part of me thinks that from that altitude the drop might actually be 'survivable', in the loosest sense of the word.

To me at least and with the little experience I have had with trying to use LLM chatbots, I do not see how they're anything but an impediment to proper research and fact finding. But I guess DDG and stacks of scientific papers do not stroke my ego as much. They just hurt brain good.

Yes, an LLM as any statistical model converges on the statistically most likely result, i.e. barfed out text, but what the value of this is? When references & citations are often fabricated/confabulated, I'd rather just occasionally groan at dumb WP articles and roll eyes at Reddit threads.

Of course, I was classically trained to go for the juggula^W^Wprimary sources and to corroborate evidence with multiple (primary) sources. An LLM is not very useful there, as it's at best a more shite version of WP with Reddit and worse mixed in.

It's also incredibly low of an altitude to jump from, practically base jumping. Meaning a similar lack of time for that backup 'chute. There's a reason why few base jumpers get very old.

VRE already have massive subsidies and privileges on the grid. They're not even required yet to use grid-forming converters and can instead offload that burden to the grid & other generators. This issue is much more complex than 'more solar/wind'.

The Ukrainian name is 'Odesa', just FYI. 'Odessa' is the russian name. And yes, Ukraine is using its ports that are practically in NATO territory much more instead. Probably also why more drone incursions in NATO airspace there.

At least in the Netherlands it was absolutely known, and I never had the impression online during the 90s and early 2000s that people were that oblivious to the movie's existence. Rather quaint...
