By all account Stevens' internal polling was also really bad, I think this was just a huge polling error.

I think some of it is it just became clear she couldn't win and people started picking sides.

I don't care about fairness or hypotheticals, I care about moving forward towards the general and reunifying the party.

I don't think anything is guaranteed, it's just not a great start to the general election. We needed to put this behind us and instead we're going to drag it out.

The lack of weird bad unique politics is a major flaw with the contemporary science fiction world imho.
