Last week, beloved white bison, Blizzard, of the Assiniboine Park Zoo died after almost two decades of being cherished by the public in Winnipeg. A sacred ceremony for Blizzard will be held at the zoo on Wednesday, July 29.

The questions are usually about current affairs, like politics & climate change, but have nothing to do with our work, & even if they did, it’s fucking AI; it’s probably full of errors and hallucinations. It feels kind of inappropriate. I’m a little worried about him.

A colleague keeps sending weird AI crap to all of us at work. They’re long transcripts of questions that he asks a chat bot, like “If X happened, what are the chances of Y?”, followed by the bot’s answers in several iterations. It feels a bit alarming, like someone who suddenly has …

He’s incapable of expressing any actual feelings, so he performs something goofy for the audience, like when he hugged the flag.

If I were to carry out major work like this, I’d politely inform my neighbours so they know not to worry. I think that’s pretty basic etiquette. Either a knock on the door and quick chat, or a nice card where they’d be sure to see it.
