Which LOTR sword was that again?

A minor RHCP break will follow as the next review will start a new 'small discography' project! Kinda wanting to open the catch-all electronic section of my website's extremely vague categorisation, so that's roughly where we're headed.

Guillemots being in this list is such a bizarre use of "landfill indie", when I saw that list the first time I basically clicked off at that point haha.

Had a lot of fun with the demo for this one some time back. Very indebted to its inspirations and reference points, but they're ones that I also greatly enjoy and I imagine the full deal will be able to expand those into something truly of its own.

Yeah, half the album are Richey co-writes that had been demoed to some degree or another while he was still in the band. TIMT was the first album where Wire was 100% responsible for the lyrics and there's a really pervasive melancholy throughout it, undeniably in part because of that.

And that's another thing that This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours has in common with Up too (technically Everything Must Go was the first album Manics released as a trio but it was half-written while Richey was still around - TIMTTMY was the final realisation he was gone & Wire was alone writing lyrics)!

Any chance of a CD run at some point? Hyped to listen to this after the past releases!

This compilation's got a cover of I Wanna Be Your Dog (exclusive to this comp I understand) and it really slaps. Sounds like they knew what to do with borrowed material.

This is a joke post but I am also counting the days until I enter a room with two music nerds 'ironically' spitting it out, hand gestures and all.

The golden run for me is that stretch from One Hot Minute to By the Way. They were such a huge band for me when I was younger, been doing a discography revisit recently for the first time in a while and it's been so much fun; really excited to get to those turn of millennium albums.

That's such a great selection! Play is one of my all time faves too.

I had kind of underrated this album for yeaaars somehow and it's only in the past couple that it's truly whacked me in the head with what a fantastic collection of songs it is, to the extent that I can't even recall what my hang-up about it used to be haha. One of their very best, for sure.

Oooh, Californication is a sudden surprise. (though now that I think about it... I don't think we've ever really nerded out about music so I'm not super familiar with your tastes!)

Presume a more neutral backdrop + removal of personal accessories just makes it more generic and therefore appealing to buy 'off the shelf'. Leaving the grass is just someone clocking off early on Friday though.
