“one affable young man covered in tattoos” This line has such a sneer about it. Surprised that a man with tattoos was affable before he mentions migrants provoked a hard eyeroll from me. Get off your cosmo perch 🙄 the tattoos are irrelevant unless you’re a snob www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

What on earth has Labour become? Truly dire that unions will boycott a women’s conference because said women’s conference has denied certain women a place. Shambolic. metro.co.uk/2026/07/29/m...

If only Rob Ford had the temerity to stand by his opinions…. Note I said opinions - not facts… when called out by people who actually have lived experience he fell apart. Oh to be a white man in academia with all the ego of a budget kitchen towel falling apart on contact with the reality of water.

This is incredible stuff. You’ve really got to have such astounding arrogance to have this little knowledge about trans healthcare and what medical transition does to a body which requires an endocrinologist to oversee and to go “birth sex matters medically” yourself, a sociologist. Astounding.

We did everything the system told us to. And when it suits the system, it will reverse course and make out the rules they followed, and made us follow, never existed.

I did everything they asked, played nicely, played their games. - Fought for a GP referral to GIC - Waited 16 months for a GIC appointment - Answered the invasive questions - Took their homeopathic doses of HRT - Saved the NHS money by having private SRS - Took statutory declarations 1/8

I reckon we’re going to hit some turbulence with Burnham over council tax. Properties in London can be worth more but families living in them may not be managing amazingly with outgoings. Not everyone in London is rich and many are on just about managing income.

I look at pictures like this and look at the budget flights, the wars over fossil fuels, the right wing resistance to renewable energy and now the insistence that we have water guzzling AI data centres and I think the rich who’ve enabled it are also going to have nowhere they can run to.

Prof. Stefan Rahmstorf

Holiday in the climate emergency. No that’s not AI or edited, just a snapshot I just took with my phone on Lacanau beach in France. What future will this boy grow up in? It is in our hands, but time is running out.

Do you think we broke the planet or do we need more wars over fossil fuels? Stop the budget flights, stop fighting over oil and start recognising we need to change our behaviour or we won’t have a planet left to inhabit.
