Aaliyah Gonzalez should still be with us. I’m in awe of her mother, Krystal Gonzalez. She’s turned her unthinkable loss and pain into purpose and change. Redirecting Our Culture (ROC) is doing lifesaving work.

Sending drones into high schools is an admission of our collective failure to protect kids.
“Please help us get these guns off our streets. Far too many young lives are being taken by senseless gun violence. We must work together to stop the illegal sale and access of firearms to minors” - Seven Shirley’s family
Sara Gibson was shot and killed by her estranged husband, who had at least two protective orders against him. Allowing someone to be armed when we know they’re a threat to themselves or others puts lives at risk. Sara should still be here.
People experiencing a mental health crisis deserve dignity and understanding. Their loved ones should be able to call 911 for help without fearing for their lives. Victoria should still be here. I hold her and her loved ones in my heart. In their honor, I fight to #EndGunViolence in all its forms.
Moms Demand ActionTwo years ago today, Victoria Lee was shot and killed by police during a mental health crisis. Her family had called 911 for help, asking only to send an ambulance. When police officers arrived, her family begged them to go away, fearing for Victoria’s life. She was shot and killed in minutes.
A day at work should never devolve into barricading doors, bandaging colleagues, or running from bullets. Today, my heart is with the loved ones of the Midtown Manhattan mass shooting victims: Aland Etienne, Julia Hyman, Didarul Islam, and Wesley LePatner. In their honor, we work to #EndGunViolence.
Moms Demand ActionOne year ago today, a typical workday in a New York City skyscraper became a nightmare. A man armed with an AR-15 opened fire inside the lobby, then made his way up to the 33rd floor. In minutes, four people were shot and killed, and one other was shot and wounded.
Nolan Wells' family deserves answers. My heart is with them as they mourn their child and seek justice.
Only in America do we remember multiple movie theater shooting marks in a single week. We should never have to fear going out to see a movie without making it home alive. We continue our work to end gun violence so that no one will be forced to experience the Lafayette community’s pain.
Students Demand ActionEleven years ago today, two people were shot and killed and nine others were wounded when a gunman opened fire in a movie theater in Lafayette, Louisiana. The shooting happened almost exactly three years after the deadly shooting at Century 16 Theater in Aurora, Colorado.
