Only in America do we remember multiple movie theater shooting marks in a single week. We should never have to fear going out to see a movie without making it home alive. We continue our work to end gun violence so that no one will be forced to experience the Lafayette community’s pain.

I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Karen Menke, one of our fearless Georgia @momsdemandaction.org volunteers. Here she was during a protest in 2024 proudly holding a “Protect Kids Not Guns” sign. She will truly be missed. My thoughts are with her family, friends, and community.

In July 2023, Fon Dockery received a phone call that no parent ever wants to get. His daughter, 8-year-old Jenesis, was shot with an unsecured gun in her babysitter’s house. She died two days later.
