I visited the dublinbikes depot today to see where the magic happens! As Dublin City Council begins planning for the future of dublinbikes, it was really useful to see how it has been operated and maintained for the last 17 years and the excellent work that JCDecaux has put into it.

Money well spent to allow MetroLink to go to construction without spending years in court while inflation goes further up. The houses can be used to house staff during construction and can be used for public housing afterwards.

You can't "fast-track" a project like MetroLink that has full planning permission and is about to start construction. It doesn't mean anything. What are they going to do? Ask people to dig faster?

Smyths have taken down their kids e-scooters today! They were marketed at children as young as 7 who will inevitably move onto more powerful e-scooters despite them being banned for children.

e-scooters are used by thousands of people to get around safely within the existing rules. Banning them instead of enforcing existing laws is a lazy response from the Taoiseach and will disproportionately affect people working low paid jobs and experiencing transport poverty.

e-scooters marketed at 6 year olds? No thanks! We need to tackle illegal e-scooters at the point of sale instead of trying to play catch-up once they're on the road. The law says it's illegal for anyone under 16 to use them on public roads and that they should be limited to 20km/h.

This is one of my biggest bugbears on the Council. While local authorities outside Dublin get up to €78m for road maintenance in a year, Dublin City only gets €40,000 for training. This is why our roads and footpaths are awful.
