There are some boomers that live in co-housing, but yes the clinging to single family homes is so detrimental to solving the housing and loneliness crises.

There are so many people who want to live in a close knit community with shared meals, communal child-care, etc., so I agree it should be easy to replicate! It’s not a setup that works for me but I love to try it on while visiting them.

My buddies live here and are happily raising their kiddos in a lovely community-based setting. Really nice units, shared spaces and charming courtyard!
