Two particularly powerful excerpts from that interview, for me: “I do think it’s some aspect of being human to engage the question of gods and that engagement requires space and time.” “If God were knowable, why would we believe in him?”

I mean FFS, I appreciate intelligent people who find meaning in religion, but Ross Douthat does not qualify. If you want to read someone who has interesting things to say about it, try Anne Carson: epicureandealmaker.blogspot.com/2011/04/quo-...
Bobby Baird (@robertpbaird.com) reminds us, in a book review from 6 months ago, that Ross Douthat is a weak thinker, a poor writer, and an unconvincing pundit: www.nybooks.com/articles/202...
Also, he is the opposite of telegenic. 60 Minutes correspondents used to be telegenic, even if they were not stereotypically attractive. Question which comes first: him bombing out or the show folding.
Ned ResnikoffGenuinely bizarre that Douthat would give up the cushiest job in journalism, where management clearly loves him, to join a newsroom whose defining attributes are its internal dysfunction and the constant stream of embarrassing leaks from disgruntled staffers.
Elon Musk is pointless. Just walk away, people.

Among the worst ideas floating around is that "the free market" will naturally achieve desirable results for society. No, it won't, not even in theory, much less in practice. Markets don't optimize "good for society" unless you make them.
Jon of The NorthTurns out that food companies were only checking their food because the government told them to, which is exactly why we need government regulations.
They need him to be the Anti-Mamdani: an aggressive, arrogant, humorless troll to “lead” the Democrats to defeat.
Will BunchOf all the many things wrong with "Morning Joe," is anything worse than their ceaseless efforts to make Rahm Emanuel into a thing? That they're so clueless about how hated Emanuel is by 95% of Democrats calls into question the validity of their opinions about anything else
