This is the pillow setup Terrye uses to sleep on the bed on her side to avoid her pressure wound. I move these pillows to the sofa when she can't stand the bed any longer. (But I think I am going to see if I can find a second set so I don't have move them every day.) Dr. Midnight stands watch.

Pressure injuries happen fast and be quite problematic if not handled expeditiously. The cell damage can dig deep into the skin, through fat, muscle and sometimes reach the skeleton. #CancerSucks, not just because it's cancer, but because of the host of other afflictions in its wake. #ScienceCat

#PressureWounds expand slowly and are often hard to notice. Once they become visible they will have a protective covering of protein. But that protein also prevent the wound from closing. Treatment requires removing the white covering with a slow-acting enzyme. www.webmd.com/skin-problem...

Since the pressure sore is on her coccyx, the allergic reaction runs all the way up her back covering her with an itchy hive reaction akin to poison ivy. We can treat the symptoms but we will be enquiring if there is another protein debridement resource we can try. We need to #ClearTheWound.
