One of our North Seattle neighbors was abducted from Home Depot last Friday. Support his family if you can.

I sent an email to info@wgbh.org imploring them to stop making (and ideally take down) these awful AI propaganda videos. You can too!
Levi FullerOh my god this is gross. And created by my original home station, too! @wgbh.org please take this down and cease promoting this toxic tech! Google funding isn't worth it.
If you watch the full video, I guess the moral here is that AI chatbots will help you make stupid, soulless poems that communicate nothing of any substance, but I don't think kids watching will necessarily get that.
Greg PakI called WNET in NY to ask them to remove this video. I told them it was damaging to kids. You can call them, too! Call 212-560-1313 and press 2 to leave a message (the phone prompt seems to indicate 1, but that message directs you to 2). ny.pbslearningmedia.org/resource/ruf...
It doesn't fucking matter if you don't stand with them if they can use your posts and the entirely legitimate response to them as gist for their anti-trans hate machine.
Ken JenningsSo that’s the thing to know, if you’re a tabloid that’s going to name-check me in another round of transphobic shit about Bluesky discourse. I don’t stand with you. I stand with my trans friends and family members. ⏹️
"We can't address this until people stop annoying me on the internet" seems to be the driving philosophy at The Atlantic and most editorial pages.
Michael HobbesI agree that leftists on social media can be too glib about how upsetting it is to see people suffering on the streets. That is, however, roughly 198th on my list of priorities on this issue. "we can't address this until people stop annoying me on the internet" is fucking asinine and *everywhere*
I think this is my first time being part of a furious transgender mob. What an honor! And how embarrassing for KJ.
gwen pepperoni 🏳️⚧️🤘🏼🍕holy shit
Here's a reminder that I make music and I put out an album in April that I think is pretty good and you can buy it here okay thank you.
Hey, musicians, If you have a place you actually SELL, not stream, your work: Quote this and link that shit.
What the fuck is this shit.
Ken JenningsThis may be true of others but I actually got express permission from the trans community to keep NYT games and recipes. I also have a news subscription, which is arguably worse, so I had to specifically send in a written request. Took 30 days but I got approved.
Including "along with public interest" in this paragraph is certainly a choice.
Chris GeidnerNYT on the Blanche vote delay that’s the result of Cornyn and Tillis not being on board due to where things stand with the IRS audit immunity provision. “‘I can see why he wants it, because it provides immunity from audits no other taxpayer would get,’ Mr. Cornyn added. “
I've read two of these and checked one out from the @spl.org Peak Picks shelf and meant to read it, so I'm basically the President now, right?
Barack ObamaIt’s that time of year again: here are some of the books I’ve enjoyed this summer. If you’ve read any good ones, let me know!
Wild that Madball and Quicksand, who played the first punk show I attended in 1991, both have new albums out this year. Meanwhile, the singer from one of the other bands that night is trying to raise money to support caring for his disabled mother . . .
Seriously. Every time I remember it i have to double check the internet to make sure I'm not exaggerating. www.concertarchives.org/concerts/7-s...
Having stumbled on Mrs. Doubtfire on a hotel room TV recently, I'd love to hear what pithy phrase this author would use to describe how it comes across today.
Michael HobbesPersonally I would say "enough with yet another sneering op-ed about people using a term you don't like," but you do you
I look forward to hearing about Susan Collins's concerns re: Jay Clayton in the very near future. (I also look forward to her trying to defend these votes over the next few months.)
Yashar Ali 🐘BREAKING The U.S. Senate has voted to confirm former U.S. Attorney and SEC Chairman Jay Clayton to serve as Director of National Intelligence. Clayton, who refuses to confirm that Joe Biden won the 2020 presidential election, was confirmed along party lines.
