#2 requires dismantling capitalism, a system built on & functions on oppression. It inherently attracts the corrupt/corruptible, that feel no shame and are rewarded for oppressing people. I’m no scholar of such big topics, can’t even imagine how we’d get to equality. Would take more than a century?

I grapple with #1. Shame can be effective mechanism to uphold the social contract, but many oppressors in power feel no shame, it’s what makes a dictator. They do feel/respond to ostracism but in destructive ways, ie incels. I wonder if radical empathy would work better, like reform vs incarceration

Yes! Something the oppressed group would also never do on a constant basis because we value living in truth, not having reality warped and perverted even to ourselves. What a sick way to live. Ooh you’re brave to read the books while you wait for the next season because the book is always SO much better than the movie or tv series and you’re most likely setting yourself up for disappointment later 😅 I have read from some S3 diverts from the books and it works well for the series tho!
