If the Jones Act were to be repealed. What do envision would happen? The shipping companies would replace (or flag out) their U.S. flag bottoms with FOC ships, with exploited workers from the P.I. thereby lowering their labor cost, charge the same and pocket the difference.

I don't support colonization I fully support PR becoming it's own nation, I would also support the U.S. maintaining payments to PR as reparations. What I don't support is using exploited workers from the developing world (mostly P.I.) to cut costs in the U.S.

Does a manufacturer in Peurto Rico have to (at least) Peurto Rico's minimum wage of $10.50/hour? If they were paid $1/day wouldn't that lower costs? Then of course your manufacturer must pay a person in Peurto Rico to drive their product to the port.

They could ship to Mexico, Canada, any Caribbean Nation (except Cuba) and then into the U.S. on FoC ships if they wanted Then of course a manufacturer in Illinois must pay U.S. wages to move products to Kansas City too.
