Cleaning my studio, and came across these postcards for Bohemian Heights Salon that we hosted at our house in Altadena for many years in the early 2000s. The invite was to share something your made or did for 3-7 minutes, or something you dig. And we had coffee and dessert. Good times.

I had to check on our niches at local cemetery to take pics for legal reasons. When I asked someone there to help me find it, he asked for our names, then asked for my year of death. I am alive, I replied.

After a 15 year run, 2 days ago I retired from being a Creative at the Apple Store in Pasadena. I got to help so much of our local community as they came to set things up, get things fixed, and learn to use things. The team there is fantastic, and this job at a perfect time in my life.

Carème on Apple TV is a lot of fun. It’s sort of the Bear set in the worid of Napoleonic era patisserie. Sex and pastries set it rolling - what more do you need. (Subtitles, so you must watch, but every frame is gorgeous)

People are entitled to joy over the arrest of Andrew Tate. That said, the glee with which people lob homophobic insults is disturbing. No matter where homophobia is aimed, its aim always eventually moves and we all suffer. (Beef with his taste, it’s fine, it’s the worst)

it’s come to my attention that folks think “Are you ok?” Is just rhetorical. I believe it is not always. if you are in a situation where you need help, try to judge if a person is safe, and then risk vulnerability. Sometimes we need help and can’t ask for it, I think “Are you ok?” is for.

What is it with fake Elon accounts thinking I will follow. NO.

Just a reminder, if you ever think Liza is a joke, she has as good a sense of humor as anyone. But really, go watch “The Word Goes ‘Round” from NYNY, and remember she is a legend.

A heat wave “hack” I read about suggested keeping windows closed until the outside temp is lower than inside and then flushing all the hot air out when it’s cooler out. Is this not just common sense?

Gay discourse at the moment is at a low level. While we soberly argue the appropriateness of using the word ”queer” affirmatively, we are fiddling with “fagcent” like a new toy we can’t leave alone. I don’t love fagcent. I guess it’s an attempt to reclaim, but that one will come back to bite.

Ok, I miss this Pasadena haunt so much! Anyone remember these murals?
