The people running these companies are absolutely invested in blurring the lines between Machine Learning (largely good, useful), General AI (sci-fi, does not exist), Generative AI (mediaslop), and LLMs (wordslop) so they can promise the moon to investors and sell slop.

What i find useful is figuring out what I personally want to do, then going and doing that where other people are also doing it. Taps that “parallel play” vibe and also gives everyone something obvious to talk about. Currently, “farking around online” is activity and topic 😉
