Winning the election is the emergency, not the repair. Repair means one person, one vote; no Electoral College; limits on executive power and congressional tenure; and driving lobbyists, dark money and private profit out of government. We cannot rebuild the same system and hope for kinder people.

Nothing. We are not relying on McConnell’s Court to save us. In 2020, Donald lost key challenges in state and federal courts, including at the Supreme Court. Elections are run state by state. The hope is a landslide broad enough to win by its own weight.
il Cane SaggioWhat makes you think the McConnell engineered Supreme Court will protect the sanctity of voting when the time comes?
McConnell is wrong. His legacy is dismantling checks and balances: weaponizing the Senate for minority rule, denying Merrick Garland a hearing, engineering a rogue Supreme Court, and protecting Donald after January 6. He left us in the debris, with voting as our remaining democratic weapon.
Kyle GriffinBeshear: McConnell is "ruining" his legacy. "…I know he thinks his legacy is being the longest-serving majority leader in the Senate's history." "Guess what? On his Wikipedia page five years from now, that's going to be a paragraph. But what we're going through right now is going to be a page."
It’s Friday. I really think we’ve earned a little time with a president who was funny on purpose. This wonderful man. 💙 youtube.com/shorts/SEldf...
The danger is not that AI can fake an image. We already knew that. It’s that Google put the forgery tool inside one of the places people go to verify what is real. The opportunities for propaganda are mind-boggling, and that is only one of the obvious dangers.
Aaron Reichlin-MelnickGoogle appears to be in an active race to destroy all remaining goodwill the company once had. They've almost entirely destroyed search and now they're screwing with Google Maps.
🤔 This man has such grace, such fury, and the endurance of the Rocky Mountains. He also has the receipts. It is a testament to the enduring perfidy of Donald and his family that almost everyone on Bluesky would say the same thing Hunter does here, even if some of us had to learn to curse first.
Hoodlum 🇺🇸Hunter Biden: “As it relates to Donald Trump, fuck him. Fuck his son. Fuck his daughter. I mean it. All of them. The whole family, down to the grandchildren. I hope that, for the rest of time, their names will live in ignominy. They have done the most awful things to my family and to me.”
Behind these numbers lies a legend: the remarkable journey of a family golden retriever who wandered away from home, found a hoodie, and rose to become a United States senator from Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Betty BowersSomeone—ABSOLUTELY ANYONE!!!—else.
Masters of the follow-up. Kasie Hunt and her staff came prepared. First, let Gym Jordan dismiss serious allegations against a Republican as a “family matter.” Then roll the tape of him savaging a Democrat over allegations. Finally, watch him stammer under his own double standard. Delicious.
Aaron RuparHoly shit! Jim Jordan is reduced to stammering when Kasie Hunt presses him on why he continues to support Max Miller despite credible allegations that he abused his ex-wife and toddler daughter
For a few hours, Tillis and Cornyn successfully impersonated senators with spines. Donald and Blanche apparently bought it. Bluesky never did. How does this con keep working on the people standing closest to it?
Mueller, She WroteAs we feared, Tillis and Cornyn appear to have lost their spines again.
Jack Smith did not write an obituary for the January 6 case. He put it in suspended animation: dismissed without prejudice because presidential immunity is temporary. We, too, would like Attorney General Jack Smith there when it’s time to press play.
Mueller, She WroteI know we were all gutted after the 2024 election and probably didn’t pay much attention to Jack Smith’s motion to dismiss the J6 case against Trump. But it’s worth a read. He made a point to say DoJ policy treats Trump’s second term as a PAUSE, and not the END of the case. I want Jack Smith for AG
Thank God. At least this time the Kushners found an institution that was already corrupt before they got there. For once, they’re looting the wreckage instead of creating it.
MeidasTouchUEFA nations will not participate in FIFA events until the investment deal is scrapped
Once you add “completely by choice,” I’m stumped. The Gulf of Tonkin pretext was weak sauce, but Johnson still got Congress to hand him a blank check. Bush got an AUMF for Iraq. Donald appears to be attempting the solo quest version, with two global shipping lanes on the table.
∞ MonkeysI'm trying to think of a previous example of a President starting a war completely by choice with so little regard for the possible outcomes. Reagan sending troops to Lebanon was pretty feckless, but it didn't entail the risk of shutting down not one, but TWO critical shipping lanes.
Donald has been trying to end this war since April. It has responded by expanding into a regional franchise. George may be allowing himself a touch of hyperbole. Or he may be calling the biggest presidential fuck-up in real time. Either way, we’re here for the verdict.
George Conway ⚖️🇺🇸We are watching, in real time, the biggest fuck-up by any president in the history of the United States of America.
The Big Grift, laid out neatly: IRS immunity for Donald, billions for cronies, and ham fisted threats for Republican senators who object. He would rather sabotage his own nomination than surrender the corruption.
MeidasTouchTrump threatens to pull Todd Blanche’s nomination rather than give up provisions shielding him from IRS audits and giving away billions in taxpayer funds to insurrectionists and fraudsters
The fucker! On second thought, you know what, kids? This is 2026. Donald is president. You play the cards a narcissistic totalitarian con man deals you. Sometimes the fucker pockets the deck. Sometimes the win is forcing him to show everyone how the con works.
Kyle GriffinFLAG: Trump just said he doesn't object to withdrawing Todd Blanche's nomination — keeping him in an acting capacity as AG — until after Sens. Cornyn and Tillis are out of office.
Okaaay. Anyone else getting the classic Lucy with the football feeling? You’re forgiven for mistaking my version of realism for cynicism. Cornyn says Donald could fix it in a minute. Apparently choosing between governing and grift takes longer.
Kyle GriffinNEW on MS NOW: Sen. John Cornyn says he's "prepared to vote no" on Todd Blanche's nomination and "we're no closer than we were before" after the Justice Department's counter-proposal. Cornyn laid the roadblock at Trump's feet, saying he could "fix it in a minute."
TL;DR: Public science gets political supervision. Basic research loses funding. AI and defense firms get fast money, weak review, regulatory favors and purchase promises. Universities become corporate training centers while foreign talent is pushed out. Taxpayers fund the products, then buy them. 😅
Aaron RuparNew in PN: The new "science golden age" looks suspiciously like a grift "It’s impossible not to wonder whether part of Trump’s loathing for universities is that there's no way for him to corrupt the process and make money off it in the same way he can by giving billions to Silicon Valley types."
Five nominations. No wins. Now a separate “Asian Pop” category for music the Recording Academy says “cannot properly be intermingled” with pop. Seven voices, one answer: music is music. Grammys, racist much? BTS to the world: 👇💜
Daily BTS⁷ 💜BTS members on the upcoming Grammys: “We have decided not to submit our work for the Grammys this year. We hope that music can be heard and loved for what it is, rather than being divided by region or language. Thank you always to ARMY and to everyone who continues to be with us.”
Donald’s ship is sinking, so naturally he’s standing on deck pointing at people in the water and yelling “invasion.” The nouns have already abandoned ship. If you spot anything sentence-shaped in the debris, please notify the appropriate authorities.
Aaron RuparTrump: "They're coming from Africa, they're coming from South America, they're coming from different parts of Asia, and they're invading Europe. They're invading Europe! It's an invasion. And the UK is a prime suspect."
