“I watched a noble cause mutate into an industry. I watched donor appeasement, elite capture, and patronage produce a false picture of reality that protected careers while abandoning the people these programs claimed to serve.”

Iranians, as has been mentioned before, were already in a state of istisal due to the severe problems facing the country, for which the regime is largely responsible. The war worsened that, and bombing their energy infrastructure would only make it worse by turning the lights out.
Yashar Ali 🐘BREAKING The US and Israel are planning what could be their harshest bombing campaign yet against targets in Iran. The targets include energy infrastructure. There is also discussion of cutting electricity in Tehran. If this moves forward, it would mark the Israeli military’s return to the war.
“The very same government that speaks of “national security” abroad, at home is buying its own security with a noose and answering economic and social crises with execution.”
Israeli occupation forces should withdraw from the Gaza Strip, southern Lebanon, and Syria (including the Golan Heights), as well as dismantle all settlements, checkpoints, and watchtowers in the West Bank. This should be followed by a unified Palestinian state.
Randy FairNo Arms or Aid for Israel! “Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly informed his cabinet ministers that the US wants Israel to withdraw troops from locations in Syria, Lebanon, and Gaza, and told them that he will not agree to this demand.” “I will tell them no.” www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_ent...
Even as the state projected strength and unity, people revealed a more complicated reality: grief and national pride, opposition to the government alongside unease over foreign intervention, and anger at Israel and the U.S. alongside frustration with economic hardship.
This plan revealed by Gantz also wasn't entirely new, but instead bears resemblance to Sharon's Five Fingers Plan, which I remember discussing with fellow analysts in 2024. The Netzarim and Morag corridors even share the same names as former Israeli settlements.
#StupidSuezThis long-form article paints an extremely damning picture of Biden, but also Blinken, Sullivan, Austin, and Finer who all seem to be trying to place the blame solely on their boss.
He’s talking here mainly about how the current situation benefits Israel in relation to Iran. But what he leaves out, and what is actually the true reason why this plays out well for them, is further settling Palestinian land. The land has been the priority, the rest secondary.
Mark ChadbournIsraeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich: “The State of Israel has no interest in joining the contained confrontation between Iran and the United States — the current situation is the best one for us.” (N12)
The EU has ordered a 24-hour delay in the release of some Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2 imagery following a request from the U.S. based on concerns that the Earth observation satellites’ output could pose a security risk.
For those of us who have worked intensely on Gaza for the past three years, myself included, this won't come as a surprise. Biden officials went above and beyond to avoid pressuring Israel and, like a dog, bowed to Netanyahu's bidding.
