NYT reporting that the big Stevens-favoring vote drop in Detroit was their absentee/early vote drop, and not Election Day ballots. El-Sayed has been winning Election Day ballots, so I think he can put it on cruise control from here. (knock wood!)

And a new Wayne vote drop is much better for Sayed. We are almost at Wasserman "I've Seen Enough" territory. One more vote drop in Wayne could/should do it.

Eh, Sayed getting what he needs from Grand Rapids and Ann Arbor it looks like, so I think he's got it after all. Stevens running only a few percentage points ahead of Sayed in Oakland County -- her home district! -- should help quash some of the "electability" naysayers for him too.

(Were I a Michigan voter, I'd have easily pulled the lever for El-Sayed. But he has to be thinking that he can't afford many more vote drops like that last one.)

Oh shit. Michigan senate primary looking tight as a tick right now. Was thinking Abdul El-Sayed was going to win by a solid margin, but then Wayne County (Detroit) just vote dumped what might be a whole lot of ED counts and...wow. "Tight as a tick" as Dan Rather might say.

Also, happy the state soundly rejected Amendments 4 and 5 by gigantic margins, and went Yes on Amendment 1 by an equally huge margin.

(At any rate, when I first saw Almost Famous in the theater, I noticed that little tiny detail right away. And that was the moment when I truly eased into my seat for the entire ride, knowing what amazing good hands I was in.)

And so I have a strong suspicion that when William puts Tommy on his record player in the movie in that scene, he's likely playing director Cameron Crowe's own version of that record, directly from Crowe's own record collection. And I kinda just love that. 5/5

...on vinyl, if they'd have done that, they likely would've come back to the set with an MCA version, post 1972, for a scene that is signposted as happening in 1969. And I think Cameron Crowe knew that. 4/

But OK. So if they needed William's character in the film to put "Tommy" on his record player and play it, they COULD have sent a PA to a local used record store to buy a copy for to use as a prop. Since Tommy had a Decca label for about 2 1/2 years and an MCA label for 23 years... 3/

Later on in the late 1980s, MCA junked the multi-color label entirely for their bland, tan-and-brown logo. It is as ugly and aesthetically unpleasing a logo as that description sounds. 3/

MCA bought the American distribution arm of Decca in the early 1970s, and in 1973 they replaced all versions of Tommy in record stores with records having MCA's very seventies-ish, kinda bland cloud and rainbow logo. They even stickered over existing copies with the Decca label. 2/

Seeing reportage from US sources that the real motive for scrapping the plan is that Kushner pulled out after seeing the backlash.

I imagine it was the size of Romo's contract that drove CBS' decisiveness as much as anything else. Marchand reporting that Romo is owed $72m over the next 4 years. CBS is gonna morals clause their way out of that albatross with a quickness.

I mean have dear friends who are longtime El Tri supporters who were like "Yeah, its great to have all the new fans and we're an exciting team...but maybe the FMF isn't the ideal group to hitch your anti-corruption wagon to..."
