There's a very weird thing going around that Grant Shapps, reportedly deselected by the Conservatives for being too 'centrist' has joined Reform (sometimes presented as a great coup for them, sometimes as a criticism).

It's depressing that when humans created AI they did so in the form of a sycophantic, over-confident, know-all who is prone to lying, fakes sincerity, presumes a friendship that doesn't exist, and never willingly stops talking.

The position I'm talking about seems to be one of self-sufficent localism, not fascism, though I suppose there could be some 'blood and soil' sentiment in there, too.

There's a particular sort of Green position which sees reducing immigration as a key priority (probably a fairly niche position, but I've met a few people who hold it), and I suspect that is what is being captured here.

I really find this kind of comment irritating. People can only do what they can do, and anyway it's pretty much integral to debunking prominent news stories that those doing so have less prominence, otherwise there would be no need for it.
