Proud @thetimes.com notes @hfcouncil.bsky.social is only place in England offering free home care to disabled & elderly residents. Great for Fulham, absent in Chelsea. Charging for care is a tax on disability, frailty, illness, old age. I welcome @andyburnham.bsky.social’s mission to fix this.

National Data Guardian reprimands @nhsengland.bsky.social for not disclosing that Palantir staff can access identifiable patient data. On the Health Committee we've asked for numbers: how many Palantir/other contractors' staff have access? NHS must clarify without delay to maintain trust.

It speaks volumes that the loudest voice for Palantir’s NHS work is Palantir itself. The Health Foundation is just the latest to find no benefit: “no noticeable improvement” from its discharge tool. An urgent independent assessment must come before any contract extension.

Palantir latest: OSR has called out NHSE for presenting Federated Data Platform's impact as proven when it isn't – we still aren't clear it's effective. We need independent evaluation before ministers are asked to decide on extending the contract. osr.statisticsauthority.gov.uk/news/nhs-eng...

A good start - @andyburnham.bsky.social is removing VAT from energy bills from 1 Oct, giving families some breathing space & saving them on average £45 a yr. I know people in Chelsea & Fulham struggling with the cost of living will appreciate the extra help this winter.

Good to join a panel on the future of UK–EU relations alongside Bundestag MP Johannes Volkmann and MEP Mika Aaltola, hosted by the European Parliament in the UK, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung UK & IR and UK in a Changing Europe. (🧵1/4)

The case for extending Palantir's £330m NHS contract looks increasingly questionable. Our Health Committee letter calls on govt not to extend, citing public mistrust, contested evidence of benefits & better alternatives. I'll keep pressing for answers & for a sovereign AI approach.

Healthy food costs twice as much per calorie. 1 in 3 adults now obese – and our kids could become unhealthiest generation in decades. That's not a willpower problem. It's a system problem. Our Health Committee report sets out a way forward: publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm5902/cm...

The Health Bill does much good but removing London boroughs’ statutory places on NHS Integrated Care Boards is a mistake. Councils hold key responsibility & budgets for social care & public health. I raised this with the Health Secretary in Health Committee & will keep pressing after recess.

Is Palantir’s NHS contract actually delivering? Nobody seems sure. I asked NHSE CEO Jim Mackey for independent audit of Palantir's effectiveness - he said it would be “helpful and necessary” but take months. Surely NHS should establish facts before deciding on contract renewal?

New: @financialtimes.com says Palantir's claimed 15% cut in NHS discharge delays is undermined by flawed data from 4 trusts. We need objective effectiveness review. @England.nhs.uk CEO told me @CommonsHealth.bsky.social this'd be "helpful and necessary" – but take months. as.ft.com/r/32966ebd-1...

Honoured to join my constituent Louise Thompson at No.10 to deliver 167k-strong petition for a Maternity Commissioner. Govt has committed to this following Amos Review, a testament to Louise’s campaigning. I'll work to deliver this: women must be listened to and get safe, decent care.

Today we remember the more than 8,000 Bosniak Muslim men and boys massacred at Srebenica, Bosnia under the noses of United Nations troops in 2015. Let us never forget them - and let us learn the lessons to prevent genocide wherever it may happen.

On this day in 1948, hospitals in Chelsea, Fulham and beyond were made free for all by the Labour govt - no more workhouse stigma, no more means-testing at the door. Today, we're getting waiting lists down but there's still lots more to do, working with the wonderful NHS staff. 💙 #NHSbirthday

Happy 250th birthday to our many US friends living in Chelsea and Fulham. And thanks to Bridge Baker in Fulham for its fine commemorative cupcakes!

Welcome to see top Health Department official recusing herself from any decision to extend Palantir’s NHS contract after I called for that at the Health Select Committee. Next step should be independent audit of claims re Palantir's effectiveness, following recent media Investigations.

On #ArmedForcesDay in Hammersmith & Fulham, we put veterans of the "forgotten" Korean War front & centre, with the Korean Veterans Association. Good to meet the London Guards cadets, too and to catch up with Stoll veterans. Days like this are how we thank them for their service.

I'm looking forward to two Armed Forces Day celebrations today, including with the Stoll veterans in Fulham. This Armed Forces Week, we honour all who serve or have served: personnel, reservists, veterans, cadets and families. On behalf of us all, thank you.

Stark admission by NHSE that its key data does not prove its claims of Palantir's effectiveness: it can’t draw conclusions about cause & effect as other variables weren’t controlled for. We need independent audit - for now NHSE should think twice before repeating unproven claims.
