Sometimes I get a bit peeved by people treating cute art (and by extension, art for kids) like it's less than other art. It's dumb, it's simple, it's low effort. Then I sign another 5-figure book contract & think 'you know what, it's fine, maybe it's just the best kept secret in illustration'

My Threads is 1/3 people asking questions on how to publishing, then cherry picking the popular ‘advice’. Then 1/3 is people crying that they followed bad advice & now have no money/ messed up their project. The last 1/3 is nice art & cute animal pics 💕

So uh… what’s the TLDR for the cancelled-AI-auction-book discourse? Coz… I wanna know, but it really is too long and I’m not reading everyone’s opinion on it (esp on Threads).

I forgot I applied to a thing, and I just found out I didn't get it, and I'm so glad? Coz I did have the time when I applied to it, but now I don't, so it all works out!

Work today includes being my cat's secretary and emailing a cat toy manufacturer to ask if they have changed distributor in Ontario. Because the one I found last year says they don't have my cat's fav toy anymore, and he will be very sad if he doesn't have toy.
